A couple months ago, we lost a fellow indie wax vendor, RG customer and friend. Amanda owned Salt Mountain Melts and was truly such a sweet positive person. Several vendors, including Second & Spruce, Lavender & Speckles, Knowles Farm Scents, and myself, have collaborated to create special blends inspired by Amanda and Salt Mountain Melts. Each vendor is doing something a little different! I encourage you to join their FB groups so you can see what everyone has to offer.
Here are the 5 donation and collaboration blends for Amanda:

Angels Among Us at the Seashore– combining two blends of mine and Amanda’s together: Salt Mountain Melts blend of Seashore Sweets (salt water taffy + marshmallow cake + cotton candy + vanilla ice cream) + our RG blend of Angels Among Us (strawberry shortcake + blackberry jam butter cookies + salt water taffy) Two amazing blends – she would have loved these together!
Blue Smoke in the Forest of Illusions- combining two blends of mine and Amanda’s together: Salt Mountain Melts blend Blue Smoke- blue sugar + marshmallow fireside + roasted pine cones with our RG blend of Forest of Illusions (palo santo + campfire cookies + vanilla woods with a hint of lavender). Again, it almost seems like these two were meant to be.
Amanda’s Pine Ridge Farm- combining two blends of mine and Amanda’s together: Salt Mountain Melts blend Pine Ridge Farm (fresh cut pine + cinnamon sugar + toasted marshmallow) and our RG blend of- Mario’s Home for the Holidays (christmas wish + o christmas tree + toasted marshmallow + royal sugar cookie + vanilla bean noel) Amanda loved this blend from the Mario line and always placed an order when it came around. The added cinnamon sugar will be highlighted and make this so cozy, warm and inviting.

(Ok a bit of back story on this one. Amanda’s husband Justin posted the funeral link for Amanda on her FB page so her out of town friends could view it if we wanted. Now, I hate funerals. I know that goes without saying (duh obv no one likes funerals) but I mean “hate” like I get a racing heart, diarrhea, puking, etc. But, I nonetheless clicked the link and started to watch Amanda’s funeral. I cant even explain it, but the absolute sorrow in Amanda’s family’s testimonies and especially Justin’s eulogy shook me. His eulogy included one particular story of Amanda dancing in the rain, and how perfectly happy and beautiful she was in that moment.
He also played a song called “Ordinary” by Alex Warren and if you were not ugly crying with liquid coming out of every orifice on your face by this time, you are indeed not human. I had heard the song on the radio before that moment but never really heard it. Ever since that day I hear it at least once a day. Literally sometimes several times, and of course I always think of her! Which leads to the next and final blend:
Out of the Ordinary - combining two blends of mine and Amanda’s together: Salt Mountain Melts blend Meet Me at Sunset (satsuma + cotton candy + fizzy pops) + RG blend of Galactic Grape- (cotton candy grapes + pink lady apples + pomegranate + cherry + wild strawberries)
50% of the sales from each one of the five dedicated blends listed above will be donated to a non profit organization – we chose The Jed Foundation. This non profit works in conjunction with The Trevor Project and aims to protect emotional health and prevent suicide in teens and young adults in the US.
